PROPTECH Philippines is hosting Hackestate: Hackathon 2025, a pioneering two-day event designed to harness the power of digital innovation in solving real-world challenges in the real estate and events industries.

Happening on April 14–15, 2025 at the Sacred Heart Center in Cebu City, the hackathon is supported by Filipino Homes, the country’s largest real estate service network. The event invites student teams to develop web-based applications that tackle pressing industry issues, with a strong emphasis on creativity, user experience and practical impact.

Proptech is an affiliate of Filipino Homes Group of Companies.

“This is more than just a competition. It’s a platform for innovation,” said Anthony Gerard Leuterio, chief executive officer Proptech Philippines.

“We believe in investing in start-ups and nurturing new ideas. The future is digital, and we are committed to helping young talents create solutions that will move the real estate industry forward,” Leuterio added, who is also the founder and CEO of Filipino Homes.

Leuterio said winning teams would take home P30,000 for first prize; P20,000 for second prize and P10,000 for third prize.

According to Leuterio, in Hackestate participants won’t just code—they’ll analyze real estate problems, study their root causes and design meaningful tech-driven solutions. They’ll also be encouraged to think creatively about how technology can simplify, streamline and elevate property processes across the board.

The hackathon is also a launchpad for collaboration and career growth, aiming to connect students with industry professionals, potential employers and fellow innovators.

“This is a rare opportunity to build relationships, exchange ideas and learn from mentors already shaping the future of real estate in the Philippines,” he said.

A total of 13 universities from Cebu are participating, including from the University of Cebu, University of San Carlos, University of the Visayas,
University of Cebu–Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue, University of San Jose–Recoletos, University of Southern Philippines Foundation and University of the Philippines Cebu.

As part of its commitment to global learning, PropTech Philippines and Filipino Homes also regularly send teams to international competitions across Asia, ensuring that Filipino talent is always exposed to regional trends, innovations and best practices. – PropertyNews.ph
