Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) said the launch of direct flights between Clark International Airport and El Nido Airport in Palawan, operated by boutique airline AirSWIFT Transport Inc., is expected to drive growth in its tourism-related properties in the area.
The new flight route, which commenced operations on March 30, enhances accessibility to El Nido, where ALI owns resorts such as Seda Lio and Huni Lio.
The company said the move will likely benefit visitors staying at its Lio Estate properties.
“This new flight route is a game-changer for El Nido,” Cris M. Zuluaga, head of Ayala Land Leisure Estates, said. “We look forward to welcoming travelers who seek immersive, nature-focused experiences that will help drive local economic growth while ensuring that El Nido remains preserved for generations to come.”
ALI said initiatives are under way to increase the capacity of El Nido Airport to accommodate an expected surge in tourist arrivals.
AirSWIFT, which was acquired in October by budget carrier Cebu Pacific from ALI for 1.75 billion pesos, continues to operate flights from Manila in addition to the new Clark route.
Shares of Ayala Land fell 0.63% to 23.75 pesos on Thursday.
